Education & Training

Applying to Study Pain Management

There are two intakes of new students each year:

  • Semester 1 (beginning in March)

  • Semester 2 (beginning in July)

You will need to apply before the application closing dates for each semester - the earlier the better. This allows sufficient time for your application to be processed and, if requirements are met, an offer to be made. You will then need to accept the offer and enrol into your units before the beginning of semester.

What is Involved in the Application Process?

Applications are made via the University of Sydney's online application portal, Sydney Student. You will need to have the following documentation ready when applying online:

  • Your academic transcript(s)

  • Your CV

  • Proof of identity (birth certificate or passport)

  • A statement of intent - a half page letter outlining why you would like to study pain management

You can read more about what is involved in applying for a postgraduate coursework degree program here:

Semester 2

What if I Want to Enrol in Just One Unit of Study?

You can choose to complete single units of study (rather than a degree) by enrolling as a non-award student. This will also allow you to count the credit obtained from the successful completion of a unit of study towards one of our degrees, as long as it is claimed within two years of completing the unit of study.

  • Enrol as a non-award student here

How Can I Apply?

To apply for one of our programs, click on the degree program you are interested in from the list below and then click on the blue APPLY NOW link on the top right of the page.

What Happens After I've Submitted my Application?

The University Admissions Office will send you formal notification of the result of your application via email. Your application is assessed by both the Admissions Office and Faculty. If successful, the University will send you an ‘unconditional’ or ‘conditional’ offer via email. An ‘unconditional’ offer means that your application is complete and you can now accept your offer online. If you receive a ‘conditional offer’ you will need to provide further information to meet the conditions stated on your offer. More information about how to accept an offer is available here:
